Saline Heart Group Announces Integration of Clinical Laboratory and the Prognocis Electronic Medical Record.

As part of our continuing effort to evolve and provide leadership in medical informatics in Central Arkansas, Saline Heart Group has partnered with Apex Healthware and Bizmatics Corporation (provider of the Prognocis EMR). Integration of the Clinical Lab via HL7 protocols/linkage will be made by the Apex Lab Information System and Prognocis. This will allow direct ordering of laboratories from the EMR, and direct result reporting from laboratory instruments to the EMR - patient medical record.
A patient portal will soon be available, and will allow patients to view their lab results and selected other studies on line. Reference laboratory results will also be funneled to the Apex LIS and instantly available in the patient medical record.
Stacie Griffin, director of Saline Heart Group Clinical Laboratory noted that "this is an ongoing committment of Saline Heart Group to utilize technology to enhance the care of our patients".
